Sportradar joins with SPARK for data initiative and streetfootballworld for CSR

May 4 – Digital technology acceleration platform SPARK, and sports data and technology giant, Sportradar, have joined up to boost innovation in sports data.

The partnership will see Sportradar support a range of SPARK’s events. SPARK’s startups will also have the chance to utilise Sportradar’s bespoke sports data, which covers more than 300,000 professional sports events annually from across 40 different sports.

SPARK’s Managing Director Sanjin Osmanbašić said: “We are extremely pleased to forge a new corporate agreement of partnership and cooperation with Sportradar. As a leading provider of technology, we are confident they will continue to support our focus on supporting businesses to reduce their operational complexity, improve their learning curves and increase efficiency.

“Just as it did last year, Sportradar will participate in the organisation of the second edition of the “Innovation Hack” hackathon. Innovation Hack is a 24-hour long competition with valuable prizes, in which competitors can showcase their IT and business skills through developing innovative solutions and mockups based on sports data.”

Sportradar has also announced a new CSR pogramme with streetfootballworld. Sportradar has pledged to engage its offices worldwide and connect them with streetfootballworld’s local partners and their community projects for social change.

Initially the programme will be rolled out in three locations – Munich, Minneapolis and Montevideo – where local Sportradar employees can collaborate with community organisations belonging to the streetfootballworld network (KickFair in Germany, Asociación Civil Gurises Unidos in Uruguay and Sanneh Foundation in the United States).

Johannes Axster, streetfootballworld Partnerships Director, said: “Staff members will be introduced to the field of football for good by receiving training sessions in the ‘football3’ methodology. This will give Sportradar employees a taste of this unique version of the game, which places a particular emphasis on cooperation, fair play and team building. It will also allow them to gain an insight into the operation of local football for good organisation by meeting the staff and youth participating in their programmes.”
