April 14 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed Thailand and China as the host nations for its upcoming women’s youth tournaments, marking a significant step forward in the regional body’s strategy to elevate the women’s game across Asia.
February 7 – China stunned South Korea to come back from two goals down at half time to win the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 3-2 in a classic final in Mumbai yesterday.
January 27 – Two-time defending champions Japan have progressed to the quarter finals of the Women’s Asian Cup as group winners on goal difference, after a 1-1 draw with South Korea.

January 20 – China got the 2022 Women’s Asian Cup underway with a convincing 4-0 victory over Taipei in the tournament’s curtain-raiser. The continent’s premier women’s competition, expanded with this Indian edition, will double as qualification for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

January 5 – Fears that the Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 could be postponed have been allayed by the AFC who are confident in the security of their coronavirus bubbles around teams and officials.
December 1 – There are just 50 days to go before India hosts the expanded AFC Women’s Asian Cup, a crucial tournament for the development of the national women’s game in the confederation which could see as many as eight teams at the next Women’s World Cup in 2023 being hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
October 15 – With the global pandemic having decimated the global Women’s competition calendar in 2020 and seen the cancellation of both FIFA U17 and U20 age-group tournaments, the AFC Women’s Football Committee has rolled forward teams from its 2019 competitions to represent the confederation in the rearranged 2022 finals.
September 16 – The finalists for the Women’s Asian Cup in India next year are starting to take shape with six of the eight qualifying groups now complete.
July 6 – The 2022 Women’s Asian Cup will be hosted in two instead of four hosts cities to minimize the risk of Covid-19 infections, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed.
June 24 – The AFC has drawn the qualifying groups for its flagship AFC Women’s Asian Cup to be held in India in 2022. The competition has been expanded to a 12-team finals with a record number of 28 nations going into the draw held at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.
March 26 – Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bhubaneswar will be the three host cities for the next AFC Women’s Asian Cup to be held in India, January 20 to February 6, 2020.
